Y10 Japanese
Although next year timetables are yet to be finalised, course selection is now finished. Any changes to student courses will now take place in January.
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs R. Smithers.
In this course students will expand their vocabulary and knowledge of grammatical structures, with a focus on inquiry and independent self-study. Students will therefore begin to use Japanese more fluently and learn Katakana scripts as well as some more kanji. Our aim is to create global citizens who are sensitive to other people's cultures, developing greater tolerance of individual and cultural differences. This course will prepare students for NCEA level 1 Japanese.
Please note that this course runs on Tuesday period 5 during Active Movement, therefore you will only have Active Movement once a week on Thursday.
Topics include Japanese culture through respect, integrity and honour, shopping, leisure activities, directions and locations around town, daily routines and describing people.
