Crime Bites (Level 2 Psychology)
Although next year timetables are yet to be finalised, course selection is now finished. Any changes to student courses will now take place in January.
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr R. Oldfield, Mr L. Whyte.
This course is about the Psychology of crime. What drives people to commit crimes and what can we do about it?. By using a case study of your own choice you will examine how psychology would explain why they committed it. We will also look at ethical issues involved with the practice of psychology.
This course offers negotiated NCEA standards for learning and assessment. This means students, via negotiation with the course teacher, can swap out standards from the base package offered below, and replace them with other NCEA standards to produce an individualised learning portfolio for the course. The additional standards that are potentially available for this course relate to psychological research and theory and a psychological debate. Please note that this course is automatically connected to Friday P2 (WOTM).
