Numeracy Through Sport
Although next year timetables are yet to be finalised, course selection is now finished. Any changes to student courses will now take place in January.
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms T. Laurence.
Through a range of sports contexts, ākonga will practise and apply basic numeracy skills to prepare them for the Numeracy Co-requisite assessment. Students will be required to actively participate in physical activities (sports, games and fitness) as part of the course. In the second half of the year ākonga will use a statistical enquiry process to source data and carry out an investigation where data is collected, presented and analysed.
Please note for students that do not have their 10 numeracy level 1 credits, they will need to select the Math Hub for Learning Programme 1 and Learning Programme 3 if they choose to select Numeracy Through Sport in the numeracy line.
