Course Description

This is an introductory course in Pacific Studies. This course provides a comprehensive overview of the Polynesian culture, history, traditions, and contemporary issues. Through a combination of interactive learning activities, discussions, and multimedia resources, students will explore the diverse and rich heritage of the Polynesian peoples.

Areas of focus will include: cultural awareness, historical perspectives, language and arts, social and family structure, contemporary challenges, resilience and adaptation, relationships with the land and sea. Please note that this course is automatically connected to Friday P2 (WOTM).
