Junior Drama

An introduction to theatre creation through process drama and roleplay. Pupils will have the opportunity to develop written and oral literacy through character creation, writing in role and scripting devised dramas. This course will encourage creative writing through practical development and enable students to gain confidence in their own ability to develop narrative in different ways. Group work is an essential part of developing theatre and as such personal communication and planning are intrinsic to the process. In preparation for NCEA requirements, students will learn how to collate evidence of their process and learning in a way that suits them. The end result will be a portfolio that is personal to each student.
