DVC Level 1
Although next year timetables are yet to be finalised, course selection is now finished. Any changes to student courses will now take place in January.
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs C. Wigley.
In Year 11 Design and Visual Communication, students will engage in the design process, focusing on spatial and product design. The course emphasizes creativity, innovation, and environmental considerations, and will help develop an understanding of cultural contexts, including Te Ao Māori and Mātauranga Māori, within their design work.
Students will work on projects that involve designing a Tiny House and innovative furniture, honing skills in various representation techniques. This will include sketching, computer-aided design (CAD), and model making. Students have the flexibility to choose and focus on one or more visual communication techniques throughout their projects.
