Although next year timetables are yet to be finalised, course selection is now finished. Any changes to student courses will now take place in January.
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs R. Smithers.
In this course, you will learn to speak, read and write in Hiragana syllables as well as some Kanji scripts and understand what you hear in Japanese. Learning Japanese will help you to speak clearly, listen carefully, spell accurately, develop a good memory, and understand and accept other ways of life. You will learn about the language and culture through hands-on activities and online. You will also be able to hold a simple conversation and basic self-introduction in Japanese, construct and understand simple texts and describe aspects of your own background and immediate environment. The course also emphasises the importance of intercultural understanding in our increasingly globalised world. Please note that this course runs on Thursday period 5 during Active Movement, therefore you will only have Active Movement once a week on Tuesday. Topics include greetings, family, school life, describing people, clothes, likes and dislikes.
