Puanga Event
Although next year timetables are yet to be finalised, course selection is now finished. Any changes to student courses will now take place in January.
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms J. Brodie.
In teams you will organise, plan and execute a community event to be held at school to celebrate Puanga. This will involve merchandise, entertainment, hakari and activities to enhance the knowledge and mana of Puanga. By studying the Maramataka (Maori calendar), significance and tikanga of the Puanga star and the nine stars of Matariki we will work with gardening, kapa haka, food, technology and art students to organise an interactive event under the stars to celebrate the coming of the new year for our school and community whanau.
